dc.description.abstract | The aim of this study is to define the effect of project based learning on academic achievement of elementary school fourth class students' intended for Social Studies. Participants in the group are composed of 80 students studying in the fourth class of Fatih Primary School in Malatya. Nonequivalent pre-test post-test control group design was used in this study. In the frame of experimental variable project based instruction programme and traditional curriculum contains a three hour lesson a week total five weeks elementary school fourth class Social Studies "Peoples and Management" unit was delivered to control and experimental groups. At the end of Practice process, the post-test was practised on students. In the research, the data obtained from Success Test has been analyzed with dependent and independent groups t-test in SPSS 11.5 package program. The meaningfulness level in the analyses has been taken as 0.05. As a result of inquiry, project based instruction method proved to be more effective in term of academic success when it is compared with the academic success of control group. | en_US |
