Amaç: Bu araştırma kolorektal kanser cerrahisi geçirmiş hastaların dini başa çıkma tarzları ve umutsuzluk düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemek amacıyla tanımlayıcı ilişkisel olarak yapıldı. Materyal ve metot: Araştırmanın evrenini; İnönü Üniversitesi Turgut Özal Tıp Merkezi Genel Cerrahi Servisinde yatan kolorektal kanser cerrahi geçirmiş hastalar, örneklemini ise bu hastalar arasından araştırmaya alınma kriterlerine uyan 113 hasta oluşturdu. Haziran 2020- Ocak 2023 tarihinde yapılan araştırmada veriler; Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği ve Dini Başa Çıkma Tarzları Ölçeği ile toplandı. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde SPSS 26 paket programı kullanıldı. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan hastaların %48.67'si 64 yaş üzerinde, %63.70'i erkektir. Araştırma sonucunda olumlu dini başa çıkma tarzı ortanca puanı 23.0, olumsuz dini başa çıkma tarzı ortanca puanı 10.0 ve Beck Umutsuz Ölçeği ortanca puanı 5 olarak belirlendi. Araştırma sonucunda Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği puan ortalaması ile olumlu dini başa çıkma tarzı alt boyut puan ortalaması arasında negatif yönde orta düzeyde(r:-0.49), Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği ile olumsuz dini başa çıkma tarzı alt boyut ortalaması arasında ise pozitif yönde orta düzeyde(r:0.51) ilişki saptandı. Sonuç: Araştırmaya katılan hastaların olumlu dini başa çıkma tarzı puanı arttıkça umutsuzluk düzeyinin azaldığı belirlendi. Araştırma sonucu dini başa çıkma tarzlarının umutsuzluk düzeyini etkilediğini göstermektedir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Dini başa çıkma, Hemşire, Kolorektal kanser, Umutsuzluk
