Özet

Water erosion, defined as soil eaten away by water force, takes place within the balance of nature itself, but the speed of erosion increases with human intervention. It found that most erosion in the world is seen in the continent of Asia including Turkey. If the necessary protective precautions are not taken, it is determined that the severity of erosion will increase gradually and consequently our world will rapidly become deserted and the human population affected by the erosion will gradually increase. In this study; In order to determine the presence of erosion risk, Şiro Creek subbasin in the southeast of Malatya was chosen as the study area. For this purpose, Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) was used by using geographic information systems. According to RUSLE, erosion is a combination of 5 factors. These factors are the rainfall, topography, vegetation cover soil abradability, and crop management factor,. By applying RUSLE in the 65477 ha Şiro creek sub-basin, found that erosion risk can be ignored in 19.8%, less in 1.9%, very little in 5.5%, normal in 8.5%, high in 14.7%, high in 24.4%, very high in 25.2% of study area and the average soil loss is 24.2 tons / ha / year.
