dc.description.abstractAbstract The college-student orientation plays an important role on replying the formal educational expectations of Higher Education. One of the factors that directly affects the student's adaptation to the university is also the belonging situation. It has been suggested that the students try to meet the belonging requirements but when they cannot find response, they look for the alternatives and resort to the antisocial methods. In this regard, it has been reported that they resort to be in a furious and challenging rebel, a malicious bully, even a desperate sleeper situation. The purpose of the study is to investigate the status of the students’ belongings to the university they attend and several variables with the Belongings Scale which was developed by the researcher. In the research, evaluation was made in terms of different variables with the Belongings to the University Scale which was applied to 1265 students of Ordu University. The data obtained from the scale applied students has been given as mean, standard deviation, frequency and percentage, t-test and one-way variance analysis were performed for the independent samples in order to determine the difference between the groups and values of belonging to the university. As a result, various relationships have been determined between the values of the Belongings to the university Scale of the university students and the gender, economic status, type of school, grade level, location, type of high school they were graduated, the year of gaining the university parameters in terms of both general scale values and expectations, motivation and identification subscale. In this context, recommendations about the policies that the university management can build for the purpose of eliminating the belonging needs of students have been presented, the continuation of similar studies has been emphasized.
