Özet
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the management styles of school principals and their competencies in the management of change. The relationship between principals' management styles, which can also be expressed as school leadership styles, and their change management competencies is considered an important issue that needs to be investigated. In the study, the relational screening model and causal-comparative design were used together. The participants consisted of374 teachers selected by simple random sampling method from primary, middle and high school teachers in Elazig city center. The data were obtained by using Perceived Principal Management Style Scale by Ustuner (2016) and Change Management Behavior Scale by Tas (2009). When the findings obtained from the research were analyzed, it was found that school principals mostly used collaborative management style and teachers' perceptions of change management were at medium level. As a result of the research, it was concluded that change management has a negative and high level relationship with authoritarian management style, indifferent management style and confrontational management style; however, a positive and high level relationship with collaborative management style. In the regression analysis conducted to identify the effect of manager management styles on change management, it was found that these variables explained 76% of the variance related to change management. In addition, it was found that collaborative management style had the most effect on change management.
