Abstract
Öz: Ebeveynlerin çocukların gelişimi üzerindeki etkilerini daha kapsamlı incelemek için Ebeveynlik stilleri ve uygulamaları arasında bir ayırım yapmak gerekmektedir. Bununla birlikte ebeveynlik stilleri ve uygulamaları kültüre göre de farklılık göstermektedir. Asya Kültürlerinde ebeveynlik stillerini ve uygulamalarını ailenin yapısı, annenin ve babanın aile içindeki anlamı, aile içi iletişim etkilemektedir. Ebeveynlik stil ve uygulamalarında,, annenin eğitim durumu ve çocuğun mizacı gibi farklı etmenlerin de rolü vardır. Ancak Asya Kültüründe ebeveyn ve çocuk ilişkisini daha kapsamlı anlayabilmek için bu kültürdeki diğer ebeveynlik stilleri ve uygulamalarının neler olduğuna ve birbirinden hangi yönlerde farklılaştığına ilişkin daha çok araştırmaya gereksinim olduğu düşünülmektedir.
Abstract: As a way of examining the effects of parents on child development it should be made a difference between parenting styles and parenting practices . Nonetheless parenting styles and parenting practices indicate differences in terms of culture. Structure of family, meaning of mother and father, communication within the family have effected parenting styles and parenting practices in Asian cultures. The different factors such as education level of mother and child temperament have roles on the parenting styles and practices. However it is thought that it is needed more research to understand deeply parent and child relations in Asian cultures related to discrepancies of other parenting styles and parenting practices and on which ways parenting styles and practices have undergo a change
