dc.description.abstractDoğu Akdeniz, dünyaya hüküm sürmüş medeniyet ve kültürlere ev sahipliği yapmış olmasının yanı sıra, günümüzde de; dünya deniz taşımacılığındaki rolü, hidrokarbon temelli enerji kaynaklarına ve bu kaynakların aktarım hatlarına olan yakınlığı ile stratejik bir coğrafya özelliği taşımaktadır. 2000'li yılların başında bölgede keşfedilen doğalgaz ağırlıklı hidrokarbon rezervleri, gerek bu kaynaklara komşu olan kıyıdaş devletlerin gerekse enerjiye bağımlı devletlerin ilgisini çekmiştir. Bu zamana kadar kıyıdaş bazı devletler ikili veya çoklu anlaşmalar ile kendi MEB'lerinin sınırlarını belirlerken, diğer kıyıdaş ve hak sahibi devletleri görmezden gelmesi Doğu Akdeniz'deki sorunu çözülmesi gittikçe zorlaşan bir kör düğüme dönüştürmüştür. Doğu Akdeniz'deki mevcut ve keşfedilmeyi bekleyen doğalgaz kaynaklarının Türkiye, KKTC ve GKRY açısından yarattığı sorunların neler olduğu, bu sorunların beraberinde getirdiği fırsatlar ile nasıl çözülebileceği sorusu bu araştırmanın ortaya çıkmasına neden olmuştur. Bu çalışmada, Kıbrıs meselesinin iki toplumlu ve iki ayrı devlet olarak çözümlenmesi, akabinde ilan edilecek MEB'ler vasıtasıyla Doğu Akdeniz'deki doğalgaz kaynaklarının üç aktörün menfaatine göre nasıl taksim edilebileceğine yönelik çıkarım ve önermelerde bulunulmuştur. dc.description.abstractIn addition to being home to civilizations and cultures that have ruled the world, the Eastern Mediterranean with its role in world maritime transport, its proximity to hydrocarbon-based energy resources and the transmission lines of these resources, has a strategic geography feature today. The natural gas-weighted hydrocarbon reserves discovered in the region at the beginning of the 2000s attracted the attention of both the riparian states neighboring these resources and the energy-dependent states. While some riparian states have determined the borders of their own Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) through bilateral or multiple agreements, ignoring other riparian and beneficiary states has turned the problem in the Eastern Mediterranean into a blind knot that is getting harder and harder to solve. The question of what are the problems caused by the existing and waiting to be discovered natural gas resources in the Eastern Mediterranean for Türkiye, Turkish Republic of North Cyprus (TRNC) and Greek Administration of South Cyprus (GASC), and how these problems can be solved with the opportunities they bring, have led to the emergence of this research. In this study, inferences and suggestions have been made on how the Cyprus issue can be resolved as a bi-communal and two separate states, and how the natural gas resources in the Eastern Mediterranean can be divided according to the interests of the three actors through EEZs to be announced.
