Friedrich Hölderlin is an intellectually stimulating figure who develops numerous ideas that encompass various philosophical currents and topics ranging from German idealism to realism, enlightenment to mysticism, pre-romanticism to classicism, linguistics to religion, and modernism to post-modernism. What makes Hölderlin even more intriguing is the conflicting synthesis of ideas found in his works, drawing from his contemporaries such as Fichte, Kant, Schiller, Goethe, Niethammer, Jacobi, Herder, and others, as well as from prominent thinkers of his time like Spinoza, Plato, Hume, Shaftesbury, Hemsterhious, Leibniz, and more. However, at the core of this vast array of ideas lies the problem of God, which Hölderlin actively explored from his early youth. This study considers Hölderlin's thoughts on consciousness, education, religion, politics, art, and history as complementary interpretations of this problem of God.
