In this study, macerated oils of different plant [sunflower (Helianthus annuus), onion (Allium cepa), garlic (Allium sativum), basil (Ocimum basilicum), opium poppy (Papaver somniferum), ginger (Zingiber officinale), turmeric (Curcuma longa)] were obtained. The study was conducted at a total of 7 groups, including the control group (sunflower oil), in 30 liter aerated tanks without water circulation during a week. Twenty rainbow trout per tank (14.6±1.0 g) were stocked at high density. Macerated oils were applied to the skin of the fish along the lateral line on the first day. For determination of effects of macerated oils on water and fish, oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) of water and hematological parameters [granulocyte (GRAN), white blood cell (WBC), red blood cell (RBC), hemoglobin (HGB), mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH), red cell distribution width (RDW-SD), mean platelet volume (MPV), platelet distribution width (PDW), platelet large cell ratio (P-LCR)] were examined in fish. The results indicated that decreases were determined in ORP level of water. It was determined that the highest survival rate was in the application of basil oil. At the end of 7 days, the highest WBC, LYM, HGB, MCV, MCH, MPV values were determined in the application of ginger oil (ORAC: 28.811). It was determined that the highest RBC value was in the application of turmeric oil (ORAC: 159.277), the highest GRAN value was in the application of poppy oil (ORAK: 481), the highest HCT, PLT values was in the application of basil oil (ORAC: 67.553). At the end of the study, it was determined that the macerated oil application to lateral line induced blood parameters. © 2016 Ataturk Universitesi. All rights reserved.en_US
