dc.description.abstract | The aim of present study was to determine the environmental attitude of people living in Izmir city and trend in their attitude depending on age. Subjects completing questionnaire were divided into two age groups, young and adult, considering social and economic structure of Turkey. The study was conducted in the nine districts of Izmir city (Balcova, Bornova, Buca, Cigli, Gaziemir, Guzelbahce, Karsiyaka, Konak and Narlidere), which is the third largest city for population. Size of sample was 396 with an accuracy rate of 95% considering the population of study area. Simple randomized sampling method was used to choose people completing questionnaire forms. Environmental Attitude Questionnaire (EAQ) involved totally 11 questions, 10 of which were prepared for the determination of environmental attitude and one was for the age groups. Chi-square, correlation and regression tests were used to evaluate the results of the questionnaire. It was found that young and adult individuals have high environmental attitude and age groups have no statistical significant effects on environmental attitude. | en_US |
