| dc.description.abstract | Öz: Sitma Turkiye'de Dogu Akdeniz ve Giineydogu Anadolu bblgelerinde endemik, diger bolgelerde sporadik olarak rastlanilan onemli bir paraziter infeksiyondur. Yurdumuzda biiyiik bir cogurilukla Plasmodium vivax (P .vivax) sitmasi gbriilmekte, tanisi parmak ucundan ahnan kan ile hazirlanmis. ince yayma ve kalin damla preparatlarm giemsa ile boyanarak incelenmesi suasinda trofozoit, jizont ve gametositlerin gbriilmesiyle konulmaktadir. Hastanemize Adiyaman ve Elazig illerinden yiiksek ate§, titreme, iijiime, halsizlik ve istahsizhk sikayetleri ile ba§vuran iki hastamn ince yayma kan preparasyonlarinda ayni eritrosit icinde birden fazla parazite rastlanmasi nedeni ile olgulann sunuma deger olduguna karar verilmijtir. Başlık (İngilizce): Two cases of Plasmodium vivax infection Öz (İngilizce): Malaria is an important parasitic infection in Turkey. While it is endemic in the eastern Mediterranean region and southeastern Anatolia, it is sporadic in other regions. P .vivax is the most common cause of malaria in Turkey. For diagnosis, various stages of the parasite must be seen during microscopic examination of Giemsa-stained thick or thin blood films. Two patients, of whom one was from Adiyaman and the other from Elazig, complained of chills, shivering, weakness and loss of appetite and their erythrocytes were found to be infected with more than one P .vivax parasite in a single cell. | en_US |
