Aim: This research was conducted descriptively and relationally to investigate the effect of surgical fear on the quality of recovery in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft surgery. Material and method: The population of the research includes those who will undergo Coronary Artery Bypass Graft surgery at Kayseri City Hospital; The patients who were hospitalized in the Cardiovascular Surgery ward before the surgery and followed up in the Cardiovascular Surgery Intensive Care Unit after the surgery, and the sample consisted of 164 patients who met the inclusion criteria for the study. In the research conducted between December 2022 and May 2023, data; It was collected with the Personal Information Form, the Surgical Fear Scale (MCQ) and the Quality of Healing 40 Questionnaire. The evaluation of the data was done with the SPSS (Statistical Program in Social Sciences) 25 program. Results: It was determined that 47.6% of the patients participating in the study were between the ages of 55-64 and 71.3% were male. As a result of the research, the patients' average surgical fear score was found to be 40.79 ± 26.09, and the recovery quality score was 137.8 ± 28.29. As a result of the research, it was determined that there was a statistically significant (r = -0.531) negative, moderate relationship between the surgical fear average and the quality of recovery. Conclusion: It was determined that as the surgical fear scores of the patients participating in the study increased, their recovery quality scores decreased. Key words: Fear of Surgery, Quality of Healing, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery, Nurse
