| dc.description.abstract | Öz: Bu çalışmanın amacı STEM merkezindeki öğretmenlerin ve öğrencilerin STEM eğitimi hakkındaki görüşlerini incelemektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu Hatay ili Payas ilçesinde bulunan PayaSTEM merkezinde görev yapan yedi öğretmen ve eğitim gören sekiz öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma desenlerinden durum çalışması deseni kullanılmıştır. Veriler görüşme yoluyla elde edilmiştir. Görüşmeden elde edilen veriler içerik analizine tabi tutulmuştur. Analiz sonucunda öğretmenler; STEM eğitiminin öğrencilere 21.yüzyıl becerileri başta olmak üzere bilişsel ve duyuşsal alanda birçok katkısının olduğunu vurgulamışlardır. Bunun yanı sıra STEM eğitiminde okulda teknolojik araç-gereç, öğrencide ilgi ve hazırbulunuşluk, öğretmende ilgi ve yeniliğe açık olma gibi özelliklerin olması gerektiğini ifade etmişlerdir. Öğrenciler ise; STEM’in uygulama ağırlıklı, işbirliğine dayalı ve kalıcı öğrenme sağlayan bir eğitim yaklaşımı olduğunu, akademik başarı, ufuk açma ve ifade etme becerisi gibi becerileri geliştirdiğini ifade etmişlerdir. STEM’in daha iyi hale getirilmesine yönelik bina kapasitesinin ve STEM merkezi sayısının artırılması gerektiğini vurgulamışlardır. Bulgulardan hareketle hizmet içi eğitimlerle öğretmenlere STEM’e yönelik eğitimler verilebileceği, STEM merkezlerindeki çalışmalardan hareket edilerek STEM yaklaşımının eğitim programlarına entegre edilmesi gerektiği, STEM merkezlerindeki uygulamalara yönelik gözlemler yapılarak daha detaylı veriler elde edilebileceği önerilerinde bulunulmuştur. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Öz: The aim of this study is to examine the views of teachers and students at the STEM center on STEM education. The study group consisted of eight students and seven teachers working at the PayaSTEM center in Payas, Hatay. The case study as a type of the qualitative research designs was used in the study. The data was obtained by using semistructured interview form. The data obtained from the interview form were analyzed by content analysis technique. As a result of the analysis, teachers emphasized that STEM education has many contributions to students in cognitive and affective areas, especially 21st century skills. In addition, they stated that STEM education should have features such as technological equipment at school, interest and readiness in students, interest and openness to the innovation in teachers. Students stated that; STEM is an educational approach that is practical, collaborative and providing permanent learning; improved skills such as academic achievement, opening horizons and ability to express. They emphasized that building capacity and the number of STEM centers should be increased in order to improve the STEM. Based on the findings, suggestions were made that teachers could be given STEM-oriented trainings with in-service trainings, the STEM approach should be integrated into education programs based on the studies in STEM centers, and more detailed data could be obtained by making observations regarding the practices in STEM centers. | en_US |
