| dc.description.abstract | ÖZET Mikobakteriyel enfeksiyonlara karşı oluşan immünitede, T lenfosit ve makrofajlar birçok sitokin salgılayarak önemli görev almaktadır. Bazı çalışmalarda aktif akciğer tüberkülozlu hastalarda serum ÎL-2R, İL-6 ve ÎL-8' in yükseldiği gösterilmiştir. Bununla birlikte aktif akciğer tüberkülozunda aktif hastalıkta ve tedaviye yanıtın izlenmesinde ÎL-2R, İL-6 ve ÎL-8'in değerinin araştırıldığı çalışma sınırlıdır. Bu çalışmada 30 aktif akciğer tüberkülozlu hastada tedavi öncesi ve tedaviden sonra serum ÎL-2R, ÎL-6 ve ÎL-8 düzeyleri araştırıldı. Serum ÎL-2R, ÎL-6 ve ÎL-8 düzeyleri solid faz, iki basamaklı kemiluminesan enzim immünometrik metod ile ölçüldü. Tedaviden önce ÎL-2R ve İL-6 değerleri normal değerlerden yüksek bulundu ve 6 aylık antitüberküloz tedaviden sonra normal düzeylere düştü (ÎL-2R 1069,8 ± 468,3 ve 539,7 ± 181,5 U/mL, ÎL-6 18,1 ± 11,8 ve 6,9 ± 4,4 pg/mL). Aradaki fark istatistiksel olarak anlamlı idi (p< 0.001). ÎL-8 düzeyi tedaviden önce tedavi sonrasına göre daha yüksek (18,3 ± 9,5 ve 10,8 ± 5,2 pg/mL), aradaki fark istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ( p<0.05), ancak her iki değer de normal sınırlar arasında idi. Akciğer graf ilerinde lezyonun yaygınlığı ile bu serum değerleri arasında ilişki bulunmadı. | dc.description.abstract | SUMMARY It has been recognized that T lymphocyte and macrophages are central to the immunity against mycobacterial infection by producing many kinds of cytokines. Some previous preliminary studies showed elevated amounts of serum IL-2R, IL-6 and IL-8 in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. However, reports. regarding the value of IL-2R, IL-6 and IL-8 measurements in the determination of activity and response to the treatment of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis is limited. In this study, we evaluated the serum levels of IL-2R, IL-6 and IL-8 before and after antituberculosis treatment in 30 patients with active pulmonary tuberculosis. The amounts of IL-2R, IL-6 and IL-8 were measured by a solid phase, two-site chemiluminescent enzyme immunometric method. The levels of IL-2R (1069,8 ± 468,3 versus 539,7 ± 181,5 U/mL) and 11-6 (18,1 ± 11,8 versus 6,9 ± 4,4 pg/mL) were significantly increased before treatment and returned to normal levels after 6 months of antituberculosis treatment (p< 0.001). Although IL-8 levels before treatment were high in comparison to the levels after antituberculosis treatment (18,3 ± 9,5 versus 10,8 ± 5,2 pg/mL) (p <0,05)both were within normal limits. No difference was observed between the measured parameters in 40 serum and extent of the disease on chest X-rays. There was a high positive correlation between the levels of IL-2R and IL-6 (r = 0.62, p = 0.001). In conclusion, the serum levels of IL-2R, IL-6 and IL- 8 may be useful markers in determining activity of the disease and response to the treatment in patients with active pulmonary tuberculosis. 41. | en_US |
