Wound healing is a widespread special feature of multicellular organisms. Evidence illustrates that apoptosis has very important roles in the various phases of the wound healing process. While the rise of cell proliferation, invasion, and metastasis during early wound healing is regulated by a decrease of apoptosis, however, the reduction of cell proliferation, invasion and metastasis during recent wound maturation may be controlled by a promotion of apoptotic cell deaths. In this study, I hypothesis that keeping up-to-date with studies on apoptosis and its associated mechanisms highlighted in the wound healing process will help to guide in future work. This review provides a systematic analysis of recent molecular research in wound healing applications. © 2018 Nova Science Publishers, Inc. All rights reserved.en_US
