Bu çalışmada, Cibuti'de faaliyet gösteren işletmeler stratejik yönetim uygulamaları açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmanın kurgulanmasındaki ana amaç, Cibuti'de faaliyet gösteren işletme sahipleri ve yöneticilerinin stratejik yönetim konusuna ilişkin farkındalıklarını ve gerçekleştirdikleri stratejik yönetim uygulamalarını tespit etmektir. Çalışma üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmanın birinci bölümünde; stratejik yönetim kavramı ve önemi, stratejik yönetim süreci ve stratejik yönetimde kullanılan araçlar irdelenmiştir. İkinci bölümde ise; stratetjinin tanımı, stratejik kararlar, stratejik odaklılık ve stratejik liderlik ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın üçüncü ve son bölümünde ise; Cibuti'de faaliyet gösteren işletme yöneticilerinin stratejik yönetim uygulamalarını ne düzeyde gerçekleştirdiklerini belirlemeye yönelik saha araştırması yapılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin değerlendirilmesi neticesinde Cibuti'de faaliyet gösteren işletmelerde stratejik yönetim kavramı ve kapsamının çok fazla bilinmediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. İşletme sahibi ve yöneticilerinin stratejik analiz, stratejik planlama, strateji geliştirme ve uygulama gibi çeşitli stratejik yönetim faaliyetlerini bilinçli bir şekilde gerçekleştirmedikleri tespit edilmiştir.
In this study, enterprises operating in Djibouti are analyzed in terms of their strategic management approaches. The main purpose of this study is to determine to what extent strategic management practices are implemented by these firms. The study consists of three parts. In the first part; strategic management concept and its importance, strategic management process, tools used in this period are presented. In the second part; the definition of strategy, strategic decisions, strategic orientation and strategic leadership are analyzed. The third and final part of the study includes survey results, conclusion and suggestions. According to research results, strategic management concept and its scope are not known sufficiently by the firms operating in Cibuti. Beside this, it is determined that the business owner and managers do not implement strategic management practices (such as strategic analyze; planning; developing and implementing competitive strategies) consciously.
