Zaman serileri, zaman içinde gözlemlenen ölçümler dizisi olup; bilimin her dalında uygulamaları bulunan, istatistiğin ve bazen de ekonometrinin bir uygulama alanıdır. Zaman serisi verilerine dayalı ekonometrik modellerde serilerin özelliklerinin bilinmesi ve dikkate alınması gereklidir. Özellikle serilerin durağanlık özelliklerinin araştırılması önemlidir. Seri durağan değil ise t, F, ki-kare sınamaları ve buna benzer istatistiksel çalışmalar kuşkulu hale gelir. Durağanlık, bir serinin zaman içinde ortalamasının ve varyansının sabit, kovaryansının ise zamandan bağımsız olmasıdır. Seriler durağan olmadığında ileriye dönük tahminler sapmalı olur. Durağan dışı değişkenler ile ilgili kurulan regresyon ilişkisi de sahtedir. Zaman serilerinin sahip olduğu trend (eğilim) ve serilerde meydana gelen kırılmalar serinin durağan olmamasına neden olmaktadır. Bu nedenlerden dolayı durağanlık, zaman serileri analizinde hayati öneme sahiptir. Bu çalışmada durağanlığı sınayan birim kök testleri tanıtılmıştır. Literatürde durağanlığı sınamak için yaygın olarak kullanılan testler iki gruba ayrılmaktadır. Birinci gruptaki testler serideki yapısal kırılmaları dikkate almayan, Dickey-Fuller (DF) birim kök testi , Genişletilmiş Dickey Fuller (ADF) birim kök testi, Phillips-Perron birim kök testi, KPSS birim kök testi gibi birim kök testleridir. Diğer testler ise serideki yapısal kırılmaları hesaplayan Perron kırılmalı birim kök testi, Zivot Andrews birim kök testi , Lumpsdaine Papell birim kök testi, Lee-Strazicich birim kök testi, Kapetanios birim kök testi ve Carrion-i-Silvestre birim kök testleridir. Uygulama çalışmasında işsizlik histerisi hipotezi bu testlerle sınanmıştır. 1923-2014 tarihleri için Türkiye'de işsizlik histerisi hipotezinin geçerli olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.
Time series is a series of measurements observed over time; who practices in all branches of science, a field of application of statistics and econometrics sometimes. Considering the characteristics of the series and knowing the characteristics of the series in econometric models based on time series data is required. In particular, it is important to investigate the stationarity properties of the series. Stationarity is that a series in the time which average, variance to be constant, and covariance to be independent of time. In addition to when the series is non-stationarity. Because a time series which contain trend and breaks, the time series occur non-stationarity series. For that reason stationarity is so important to analyze time series. In this study, the unit root tests that to test the stationarity, has been introduced. The tests commonly used to test the stability in the literature is divided into two groups. Tests of the first group are tests that don't take into account the structural break in the series. These tests are Dickey Fuller (DF) unit root test, Augmented Dickey Fuller (ADF) unit root test, Phillips - Perron unit root test and KPSS unit root test. Other tests are tests that take into account the structural break in the series. These tests are Perron structural break unit root test, Zivot-Andrews unit root test, Lumpsdaine-Papell unit root test, Lee-Strazicich unit root test, Kapetanios unit root test and Carrion-i-Silvestre unit root test.
