    The Role of Social Studies Course in Creating a Digital Self

    Human beings have been developing their communication skills since stepping on the stage of history. First of all, communication skills have been transformed by technological developments (printing) that convey speech, writing and experiences to future generations. In the following period, communication skills have shifted to a new dimension with the internet that transforms information into digital codes. Digital communication, interaction and transformation are widespread nowadays. The individual has a digital copy of the data for his / her general and private life. This copy is called the digital self. In this study, the effect of social studies lessons on the development of digital self will be determined according to the perceptions of social studies teachers. Random and criterion sampling techniques were used to determine the study group. Qualitative research method will be used in the study and content and descriptive analysis techniques will be used in the analysis of data. The data obtained in the study will be presented as tables and quotations will be made directly from the opinions. The data obtained as a result of the study will be presented as sub-themes and these themes will be discussed by the researcher with the help of literature and suggestions will be presented. © 2019 Published by ISRES Publishing: www.isres.org.

    The needs shaped by the concepts of change and time from the existence of mankind to the present day can be said to be met by the authorities in different ways in terms of space concept in the world. The nature of the methods or equipment used to meet these needs affects the speed of the response to the need and the level of satisfaction of the individual or community to be met. As an individual or society, the most important factor that influences our needs from past to present is the process of adapting to the requirements arising as a result of technology and technology, which are the key to change. These technological tools differ according to their intended use and categories. The prominent category in this study is virtualization technologies and their use in social studies education.
