Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı Karpal Tünel Sendromu (KTS) tanısı almış hastalarda farklı fizyoterapi yöntemlerinin ağrı,
genel sağlık, fonksiyonel durum, uyku kalitesi ve semptomların giderilmesine etkisini karşılaştırmaktır. Bu
randomize kontrollü çalışmaya 30 (26 kadın, 4 erkek) KTS’li hasta dahil edildi. Katılımcılar rastgele 3 gruba
ayrıldı. Birinci gruptaki hastalara (n=10) KTS’ye yönelik rutin fizyoterapi (konvansiyonel Transcutaneous
Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS), ultrason ve parafin) uygulandı ve ev egzersiz programı verildi. İkinci
gruptaki hastalara (n=10) KTS’ye yönelik rutin fizyoterapi ve ev egzersiz programının yanı sıra karpal kemik ve
medyan sinir mobilizasyonu uygulaması yapıldı. Üçüncü gruptaki hastalara (n=10) ikinci grubun tedavi
programına ilaveten Kinezyo bant uygulaması yapıldı. Gruplar Vizüel Analog Skala (VAS), Boston Semptom
Şiddeti Skalası (BSŞS), Boston Fonksiyonel Kapasite Skalası (BFKS) ve Pittsburgh Uyku Kalite İndeksi (PUKİ)
kullanılarak değerlendirildi. Bütün grupların grup içi tedavi öncesi ve tedavi sonrası değişimi incelendiğinde Grup
I’in BSŞS duyu ve total puan parametrelerinde, Grup II’nin VAS ve Grup III’ün VAS, BSŞS’nin tüm parametreleri
ile BFKS’de anlamlı fark bulundu (p<0.05). Gruplar arası karşılaştırmada ise sadece VAS’ta fark anlamlı bulundu
(p<0.05) ve bu fark Grup III’ten kaynaklanmaktadır.

This study aims to compare the effect of different physiotherapy methods on the general health, functional status, sleep quality and symptom relief in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). 30 (26 female, 4 male) patients with CTS were included in this randomized controlled trial. Participants were randomly assigned 3 groups. In the first group (n = 10), classical physiotherapy was applied for CTS and home exercise program was given. In the second group of patients (n = 10), classical physiotherapy and home exercise program for CTS as well as carpal bone and n. medianus mobilization was applied. Kinesio tape application was performed in addition to the second group treatment program in the third group (n = 10). Groups were assessed using Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), Boston Symptom Severity Scale (BSSS), Boston Functional Capacity Scale (BFCS) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). When all groups were examined before and after treatment, there was a statistically significant difference in BSSS sensory and total parameters of Group I, VAS of Group II and also VAS, BSSS all parameters and BFCS of Group III (p <0.05). In comparison between the groups, the difference was significant only in VAS (p <0.05) and this difference is due to Group III (p <0.05). Keywords: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Physical Therapy Modalities, Pain, Sleep.
