Özet
The aim of the study is to test the effects of the sexual health psycho-education program on the 8th graders’ knowledge level and attitude towards the adolescence, abuse and social gender roles. Quasi-experimental design with a pre and posttest control group was conducted in this study. The sample of the study is composed of 48 students in total. There were 24 students (10 male-14 female) in the experimental group and 24 students (10 male-14 female) in the control group. The students in the experimental group received the Sexual Health Psycho-Education Program; whereas, the students in the control group received no intervention about the subject. The findings of the study indicated that sexual psycho-education program created a significant difference (p<.05) between the knowledge level of the experimental and control group students on the adolescence and social gender subjects. However, there was no significance about the physiological, emotional and sexual abuse (p<.05). The results of the study showed that the sexual health psycho-education program increased the 8th graders knowledge level about adolescence and social gender subjects although it didn’t affect their knowledge of abuse.
