Özet
Objective: Endometrial cancer is the most often determined malignancy. Beyond the factors like unopposed estrogen, endometrial hyperplasia, the existence of chronic inflammation has been thaugt as responsible also for the ethiology of endometrial cancer as in all tumours. In this study we tried to find out the role of chronic inflammation in endometrium cancer by using the hemaetologic markers like MPV, N/L. Material and Method: There has been 111 patients included in the study. Patients are diveded into four groups according to the endometrial tissue sampling results. Endometrial samplings are diagnosed in the pathology laboratory by their histopathologic characteristics. Total blood count is done by using Siemens Healthcare Diagnostic Item ADVIA 2120i. For the statistical analysis, SPSS 22.0, Chicago, IL programme has been used. Results: In the statistical analysis, there is not a significant difference of N/L ratios between groups (P>0.05). As the MPV values are examined, there has been significant difference between groups and in the endometrial cancer group, this value has been higher (p<0.001). Discussion: Chronic inflammation is an important factor in the ethiology of carcinogenesis. It has been showed that the cells causing inflammation; lymphocytes, platelets and especially neutrophils are increased in the tumoral tissue and their metabolisms are also increased in the tumoral tissue. It is not so different in gynecologic cancers like our study. In this case agents slowing down the inflammatory process, render an important part of the cancer therapy. © 2017 Gunes Kitap Kirtasiye.
