Özet

Turkey is confronted with the pressure of the demand to higher education as EU countries are. This high demand caused by various social factors has been a critical problem in Turkey. Nowadays, the higher education system is in an intensive effort in order to, on one hand, meet the increasing demand to higher education, on the other hand, give more qualified education at specialization level. In the process of EU conformity, certainly, the changes carried out in every social systems and conformity studies appear in education institutions as well. In this study, the function of secondary education and the scales used for entering to higher education are discussed within the ten member counties of European Union-Germany, Denmark, France, Portugal, Greece, Belgium, Holland, Spain, Italy and Switzerland.
