In this study, music teachers’ job satisfaction and their level of attitude towards the music teaching profession were examined according to their in-service training (IST) and participation in IST. The research is a descriptive research based on scanning model. The sample of the study consisted of three provinces determined according to the Socio-Economic Development Index from each geographical region, and a total of 819 music teachers were reached, of which 606 were working in public schools and 213 in private schools in the 2021-2022 academic year. Personal information form, Minnesota job satisfaction scale and Music Teaching Profession Attitude Scale developed by the researcher were used to collect the data of the study. While analyzing the data of the research, in the first place, public and private schools were examined among themselves, t-test and One Way ANOVA analysis were made. Two Way ANOVA test was applied in comparison of public and private schools. According to the results obtained from the research; It has been observed that the job satisfaction and attitude levels of music teachers working in both public and private schools differ according to their participation in IST in the field of music education and the number of IST they attend. Despite this, it was seen that the level of job satisfaction and attitudes of music teachers working in public schools towards the profession of music teaching did not differ according to the IST activities in the field of general education. As the number of music teachers participate in ISTs inreases, it has been concluded that the level of job satisfaction and attitude towards the profession may increase. According to the results obtained, suggestions have been developed to determine the IST needs of music teachers at certain periods and to encourage them to participate in IST. © (2024), (T.C.
