Özet
Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the shear bond strengths of laser, photo-etched, and micro-etched base structure brackets after cleaning with sandblasting and ultrasonic method for second use. Methods: In our study, 3 main groups were obtained using 102 brackets. Thirty-four Equilibrium-2 brackets with laser base structure, 34 Mini Master brackets with photo-etched base structure, and 34 Miniature Twin brackets with micro-etched base structure were used. The first shear bond strength and first ARI scores of the brackets were evaluated. Three main groups were divided into 2 subgroups and 6 groups were obtained, with 17 samples in each group. Bracket bases were cleaned using sandblasting or ultrasonic methods and brackets were rebonded to same teeth. Then, the second shear bond strength and second ARI scores were evaluated. Results: The first shear bond strength of the laser group is higher than the photo and micro-etched groups (P <.05). The second shear bond strength of the laser sandblasting group is significantly higher than the laser, photo-etched, and micro-etched ultrasonic groups (P <.05). The difference between first and second shear bond strength is significantly in all groups except for the photo-etched sandblasting group (P <.05). There is significantly difference between the groups in terms of first and second ARI scores (P <.05). Conclusion: It was observed that ultrasonic and sandblasting methods applied prior to the rebonding brackets had positive effects on the cleaning of the bracket base. Adequate bond strength has been achieved in rebonded of laser, photo-etched, and micro-etched base brackets. © 2022, AVES. All rights reserved.
