| dc.description.abstract | Abstract: The purpose of this study is to identify the views of academicians about the problemsin the undergraduate education process in which the Science teachers are educated,and to propose solutions to these problems. The study was designed as a case study.The working group of the research consisted of 29 instructors who work in the ScienceTeaching Undergraduate Programs in Turkey. The data were obtained via a structuredinterview form composed of demographic information and open ended questions. Thedata were analysed using content analysis method. As a result of the research, theproblems that affect Science teaching improvement in Turkey negatively aresummarized under three main headings: problems arising from the undergraduatestudent admission phase, problems related to the content of the undergraduateprogram, and issues related to the undergraduate education process. For solutions tothese problems, the study offers suggestions: student and teacher selection systemshould be changed to measure personal and professional skills, the number ofstudents should be decreased, infrastructure deficiencies should be corrected, qualityand quantity of the instructors should be increased, personal rights of the educationemployees should be improved, and common opinion and strategies should bedetermined through organizing workshops with the participation of all stakeholders. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Öz: Bu çalışmanın amacı, Fen Bilgisi öğretmenlerinin yetiştirildiği lisans eğitim sürecindeki sorunları belirlemek ve bu sorunlara çözüm önerileri sunmaktır. Araştırma, durum çalışması ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, Türkiye’deki Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği lisans programlarında görev yapan 29 öğretim elemanından oluşmaktadır. Veriler, demografik bilgi formu ve açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan yapılandırılmış bir görüşme formuyla toplanmış ve içerik analizi metoduyla değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda Türkiye’de etkili bir fen bilimleri öğretmeni yetişmesini engelleyen sorunlar, Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliğine lisans öğrencisi kabul aşamasından kaynaklı problemler, Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği lisans programının içeriği ile ilişkili problemler ve Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği lisans eğitim sürecinden kaynaklı sorunlar şeklinde üç ana başlıkta özetlenmiştir. Çalışmada, bu problemlerin çözümü için öğrenci ve öğretmen seçme sisteminin kişisel ve mesleki becerileri de ölçmesi için yenilenmesi, Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği lisans programına ayrılan öğrenci sayılarının azaltılması, altyapı eksikliklerinin giderilmesi, öğretim üyelerinin niteliklerinin ve sayılarının artırılması, eğitim alanında çalışanların özlük haklarının iyileştirilmesi ve tüm paydaşların katılacağı çalıştaylar ile ortak görüş ve stratejiler belirlenmesi gibi öneriler sunulmuştur. | en_US |
